Committee Chairs

Committee Chairs were union-elected roles in use from November 2020, until October 2021. Committee chairs were each responsible for managing, operating, and otherwise, running, their respective committees, and leading projects that were of subject to their committee's topic. Committees were also responsible for reporting the progress of their committee's operations to the President and/or Vice President.

In addition, at the same time as operation of committee chairs, the union would pursue one or two projects at a time as a whole, entitled 'spearhead projects'.

The committees included the Education and Curriculum Committee (ECC), the Social Issues Committee (SIC, Originally LIC as Legal Issues Committee), the Mental Health Committee (MHC), the Climate Issues Committee (CIC), and the Civic Engagement Committee (CEC).

Other committees, including the Economic Development Committee (EDC), Science, Technology, and Healthcare Committee (STHC), and Foreign Policy Committee (FPC) existed for a brief period of time between December 2020 and February 2021.

Until February of 2021, the MHC and ECC committees functioned as one (EMHC).

In February of 2021, changed were made to committees, including voting to disband committees. The EDC, STHC, and FPC committees were disbanded. The CIC committee remained, with 57.1% of membership voting to remain.

In October 2021, the use of committees and committee chairs were phased out, in favor of having the union pursue a few select project at a time, under the umbrella of the union as a whole.
